Systematic and evolution of phytophagous beetles

Haran

My research interests focus on macro and micro evolution of phytophagous beetles, in relation with their environment. The systematic of species is a central framework to explore these dimensions. Over the last decades, I have focussed on the molecular and morphological aspects of the systematic of weevils (Coleoptera, Curculionidae). This group is very diverse and is particularly suitable to examine evolutionnary processes of plants-insects interactions.
More recently, I have worked on the systematic of natural ennemies in African crops (Hymenoptera mainly), in order to support the development of Agro-ecology in this area.
