La sélection génomique pratiquée depuis une vingtaine d'années sur les animaux de rente a démontré qu'il était possible de prédire le potentiel génétique d'un individu au regard d'une contrainte sélective donnée. Avec le développement des technologies de séquençage à haut-débit, cette approche prédictive commence à être appliquée à l'échelle de populations y compris pour des espèces non modèles.

L'objectif de la thèse est de développer et d'évaluer des approches de prédiction génomique populationnelle afin de prédire le potentiel adaptatif d'une population placée dans un nouvel environnement donné. Les applications considérées pendant la thèse concerneront la prédiction du risque d'établissement à court-terme de populations envahissantes d'insectes dans une nouvelle aire géographique caractérisée par un ensemble de facteurs biotiques et abiotiques (p.e., variables bio-climatiques, plante hôte). Les méthodes développées seront évaluées à l'aide de données simulées puis validées sur des données acquises au laboratoire sur la mouche Drosophila suzukii et la coccinelle asiatique Harmonia axyridis. Ces développements ont aussi l'ambition d'avoir une portée plus générique avec des applications sur d'autres espèces et/ou pour répondre à des questions connexes (p.e., estimation de la vulnérabilité de populations aux changements climatiques).
