La mouche orientale des fruits Bactrocera dorsalis cause des problèmes importants dans les plantations de mangues au Sénégal depuis son introduction. Pour gérer cette population, une technique de lutte biologique, l’entomovectoring, est testée dans le cadre d'un projet Européen. Elle consiste à libérer des mâles stérilisés et chargés d’un pathogène afin qu’ils créent une épidémie au sein de la population des mouches à travers l’accouplement et les interactions avec les autres mâles fertiles.

La construction d'un modèle multi-agents permettra de tester les conditions de l’efficacité de cette technique et servira d’outil d’aide à la décision pour les différents acteurs du projet. Ce modèle représente le cycle de vie de la mouche, sa dispersion, l’accouplement entre femelles et mâles fertiles ou stériles et infectés, la reproduction, la transmission du pathogène au sein de la population des mouches, les différentes mortalités, la structure de l’environnement, le système socio-technique incluant les actions de contrôle de la mouche et les pertes potentielles de mangues dues aux mouches.
